Yep, this is a real working 4x5 camera made out of legos.
The best part? It’s name: The Legotron, Mark I.

Looking for a use for your recently replaced original iPad? You could do a lot worse than the iCade (US$100). Yet another ThinkGeek April Fools product made real, the iCade lets you slide your iPad down into a retro arcade cabinet dock, connect over Bluetooth, and play a large number of classic arcade games — including many Atari classics like Asteroids — with a full set of arcade-style controls instead of having to use that damn touchscreen.

Sony’s new DAB+ radio is exactly the kind of retro-styled receiver I’d like to have kicking around the house. The XDR-S16DBP is encased in an attractive wood cabinet and offers DAB/DAB+/FM reception, 0.8W + 0.8W stereo speakers and a two line LCD display. It weighs 1.7 kg and measures approx. 270 mm × 140 mm × 112 mm. My only gripe is that it offers only 10 DAB and 10 FM presets — why so stingy, Sony?
DAB+ is an updated version of the DAB digital standard that has been on the air since 1995. The new format makes use of the AAC+ codec, allowing twice as efficient compression as the original. It should alleviate quality complaints and improve reception in fringe areas thanks to more robust Reed-Solomon error correction.
Available in Europe, Australia and other advanced nations with free-to-air DAB service.
Looking for a new fridge? Your search is over as we’ve found the most perfect fridge ever manufactured by man. Behold, the Royal Wedding Fridge (they even got the right Prince):
The royal fridge and freezer, which is sold by GDHA, a U.K. distributor of GE appliances, features the more casual of the two official engagement pictures taken by photographer Mario Testino. The refrigerator is 5′9’, which means you’d almost be looking at life-size versions of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Kinetic Effect Clock is Hypnotic
Kinetic Effect Clock is a minimalistic clock that offers a fabulous kinetic effect depending on the position of 3 foils representing the hour, minutes and seconds. There are two versions, the first being a back-lit model that creates a monotone kaleidoscopic effect as light passes thru it. The second works on the same premise except each foil is a color from the CMKY model, K being the odd-man out. Hit the jump for a video.

National Geographic Channel has teamed up with engineers, scientists, and balloon pilots to make a life-size replica of Pixar’s floating house from movie, “Up” (2009). The behind-the-scenes of this project have been filmed and will be aired on National Geographic’s new series “How Hard Can it Be?, which will debut next fall.
Notes from My Modern Met:
[…] launched a 16′ X 16′ house 18′ tall with 300 8′ colored weather balloons from a private airfield east of Los Angeles, and set a new world record for the largest balloon cluster flight ever attempted. The entire experimental aircraft was more than 10 stories high, reached an altitude of over 10,000 feet, and flew for approximately one hour.
I Want One Of Those are selling a funky bit of retro kit for iPhone users…
The 80s are officially back in fashion, and it’s now gone as far as the technology you use. iPhones might be the pinnacle of modern technology, but this 80s Retro Phone allows you to turn it into a classic, brick-style phone direct from the 80s. It’s as retro as Marty McFly’s trainers (but considerably more functional) and still allows you to use all your iPhone’s normal functions. Slot your iPhone in and enjoy the kudos of owning a design classic - within moments you’ll be wearing shoulder pads and stocking up on Huey Lewis records while you whiz around in a Sinclair C5.
Features:
- An iPhone case that makes it look like an 80s-style mobile phone.
- Allows you to use your iPhone as normal.
- Compatible with iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.
- Also works as an iPhone stand.
- Great for fancy dress parties.
